Separations:

Upon the RCJC's dissolution in 2010, two new groups were formed:

Reformation Community of Christ

Church of Christ - Community of the LDS

About:

Founded in Los Angeles, California, this group was originally composed of members of the LDS Church who had been excommunicated due to their sexual orientation. Most of the early members were members of the Los Angeles chapter of Affirmation. Feliz, A. LaMar Hamilton, and John R. Crane were among the instrumental early leaders of the church. Feliz and others in the church claimed to receive divine revelation. Eventually the "Temporary Presidency" was dissolved and a "Quorum of High Priests" was set up, with the Presidency of the High Priesthood governing the group.

The church was formed because members believed the LDS Church had failed to preach the gospel to ALL people, and that a new organization must be established to bring the gospel to practicing gay and transgender people. The priesthood, according to the group, is completely separate from any specific church; therefore, in spite of their LDS excommunications, members believed they retained their priesthood (Williams).

In 1987 Feliz and Crane were ousted by the church, and Robert M. McIntier was chosen to lead the church in 1989. In the same year, the group moved its headquarters to Salt Lake City (Shields, 1990, pp. 275-6).

The church called its congregations "families." Mark Dexheimer Trujillo was the bishop of the Salt Lake City family of the RCJC. The group accepted baptisms performed by any restoration church, they ordained women to the priesthood, they emphasized free agency and common consent, performed all temple ordinances, and sealed couples regardless of sexual orientation (church website).

The RCJC was dissolved in november 2010 bcause of the resigning to the Presidency of Robert McIntier. Two new groups were erected: the Reformation Community of Christ with President Mark Dexheimer Trujillo as his head, and the Church of Christ - Community of the LDS with headquarters in Montevideo, Uruguay (the President is Fabio Cruz, former 2nd Counselor of the First Presidency of the RCJC).
