About:
- One of Joseph Smith Jr.'s apostles.
- The first person in this dispensation to be ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood.
- Ordained Joseph Smith, Jr. and Sidney Rigdon to the Melchizedek Priesthood.
- Referred to as "Baneemy" in early editions of the Doctrine and Covenants. The 1864 edition states "... and I will soften the hearts of the people, as I did the heart of Pharaoh, from time to time, until my servant Baurak Ale, and Baneemy, whom I have appointed, shall have time to gather up the strength of my house..." (source).
- The LDS Church version of the Doctrine and Covenants (105:27) has been altered to now read: "And I will soften the hearts of the people, as I did the heart of Pharaoh, from time to time, until my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and mine elders, whom I have appointed, shall have time to gather up the strength of my house..." (source)
