Church of the Lamb of God (Ervil LeBaron)

Page history last edited by Alan Unsworth 6 years, 9 months ago

Founded:

1974

Founder:

Ervil LeBaron (1974-1981)

Other Leaders:

Arthur (Arturo) LeBaron (1981-1983)

William Heber LeBaron (1983-1986)

Aaron LeBaron (1986-1988)

Schismatic Groups:

  • Church of the Lamb of God (Jordan)
  • Church of the Lamb of God (Chynoweth)
  • Millennial Church of Jesus Christ
  • Upon Ervil LeBaron's death, each congregation of the church began operating independently, divided by their different doctrinal interpretations. Dan Jordan was the leader of the Denver branch, and according to Rena Chynoweth, Arthur LeBaron and Leo Evoniuk led a branch in Sonora, Mexico, while Mark Chynoweth led the branch in Houston. During the 1980s, perhaps after the 1983 murder of Arthur LeBaron, Leo Evoniuk's following was headquartered Monterey, California.
  • For the purposes of this wiki, the group with the successive leadership of Ervil LeBaron's children will be known as the Church of the Lamb of God (Ervil LeBaron), and I am referring to other related denominations as schisms of this group.

Scriptures:

Inspired Version of the Bible

Book of Mormon

Doctrine and Covenants

Pearl of Great Price

Priesthood Expounded

Book of the New Covenant

About:

  • Anna LeBaron, daughter of Ervil, indicated in 2017 that there are no more followers of Ervil. Even Ervil's living wives no longer hold to him as a prophet. ("Voice of Influence" podcast, episode 8).
